Dissapointed!

Who said life is fair? Especially when we are talking about the corporate world! Nobody truly cares about your passion for a particular subject. Even less about the energy you spent on something or all the energy you have left to spend on something! It's all about politics at the end...regardless of what come out of their mouths! Wait...let me change a piece here... maybe they do care about your passion and energy, however that is not enough to recognize you as a potential leader of some sort. They do expect you to do things and make things happen regardless of recognition.

Pick up your pieces - afterall...who is human anyway right? - and let me know what you would like to do next!

BULLSHIT! that's it!

Do you want to know what I learned from all of this? Think of yourself first! So much energy put into something and not enough energy put into something else that was just for me...at the end do you know what's the result!?!?!?!?

FAILURE in both! Pick your battles Priscila...it's about time to learn that!!!!!

Pissed off...that's how I feel.

Mother's Day

Thursday, April 12, 2012

After a day that was not so good, all it takes to make everything better is:

A wonderful husband that prepares the most delicious antipasto in the world (prosciutto) and a bottle of beer.

That's it! It's all good now.

March: What a month!!!!

I have finally left the laziness aside and have decided to come and talk about the month of March. Some wonderful things have happened to me this month:

On March 1 I became an US citizen! I must say that is has been a very long journey of paperwork, fees, interviews, fingerprints, etc etc. However, it is also important to say that overall it was a very smooth and somewhat quick process. From the first application for change of status I had to file with immigration (right after I got married) until citizenship about 4 years have passed. Not bad at all considering several difficulties that people go through. Also, although it requires a lot of paperwork, I had decided from the first application (mostly because we couldn’t really afford a lawyer anyway) that I wanted to do it all by myself. I knew about every little bit of information from both of us (hubby and I that is) that was being provided and I totally recommend to people. It gives you more confidence also about the entire process. Uhuu I am glad that that part is done!

Also in the beginning of the month another lovely surprise. My sister decided to visit out of “a spontaneity burst”. She had a week off between jobs and she simply purchased the ticket and came. I was able to take a couple of days off from work and we had an amazing time. Our relationship strengthened with that and even her perception about hubby changed. We did some amazing things and spent a wonderful time together!

I have also, once again, made an attempt to study for the stupid GMAT test. This time I thought that if I were to spend some money with a prep course (again) I would actually take it more seriously. Well, in reality is not working as well as I thought. I have a deadline which is May 19 (the day I will take the test). Hopefully I start take this seriously sometime soon! Dive your damn brain into the books girl!

Onto the not so great part of the month, Hubby and I have started the house hunting process. Not apartment hunting but house hunting. For those of you who maybe read this blog, you might have come across some postings last year about apartment hunting. Well, I thought that was stressful enough, thus things can always get worse (and better as well it depends right?). Well based on our price point, choices are limited and realtors are freaking sharks that come at you like you are having a hemorrhage. Let me just say that within a month we saw as many houses as we saw new realtors…we were dropping them like bombs. For the most part, they are all liars! One team in particular I would never go back to nor recommend to anyone. I am thankful hubby and I have a very good support system – aka Hubby’s parents that are really following us through this process. As first time home buyers, there are too many questions out there and not convincing enough answers if you were to ask me! The hunting process is still going on with an offer on the table waiting for some clerk somewhere to push a button (or a piece of paper for this matter) and get things rolling. Let’s see what happens next!

Overall I must say that the month of March was by far, the busiest month of the year. A pretty good mix of good and bad things that overall still left a sweet taste in my mouth! A great first quarter this has been!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR...

and it should be everyday not only on Valetine's day. I wanna presents and romanticism everyday without becoming too tacky. Is that too much to ask? My Valentine is doing just fine these days. Give me love my love!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although I am not big on celebrating this date all the way out (like booking fancy restaurants, etc etc etc), I can't help myself but enjoy little thoughtful gifts from hubby. Below are the treats I got this year!

This is the card. Couldn't be more perfect! (although I don't really find myself all that sweet! lol)

I absolutely loved these rings. They are totally my style. Hubby really really scored this time!

Now you might wonder what I have gotten for my Valentine... and the answer is....NADA!
What a heartless wife I am. Good thing that "Vag..." is always at a prime in Hubby's books! :)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

PS: Feliz aniversario pai!

Smokey and defined!

FIRST OF ALL: TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Attending to my friend Patricia's request, here it is a more "dramatic" look using grey, black and a lighter color as a highlight. This look can be achieved by using pretty much any "smokey eye" eyeshadow palette or quad out there.

In my case, I kind of played lazy and used a look that I already had done earlier for work and just kicked up a notch for a more "night look" (which could be a real situation for someone who still enjoys nightlife after work. Not really my case anymore) by intensifying the outer V with a black matte color and extending more the color on the crease. On the face I just added a bit more of blush and more concealer under the eyes. Yellow concealer is great to cover up dark circles by the way.

This is the look for the am (a little too much for work one might say).

The pics below are from the final look. I can't forget to mention the false lashes! (i wish these lashes were my real one....)

Loose bits and pieces:

- I need to start working on that stupid GMAT test! Can't stop thinking about the fact that the format will change in June! MBA HERE I HAVE TO COME.
- My mind is experiencing hyper activity! It's a good thing if I can control but it gets me suuuuper tired!
- It was a crazy week at work...TIRED!
- I need to Ommmmmmm...
I hope you enjoyed the look. Leave me a comment! :) Thank you for visiting.

Valentine's Look

I know it is kind of early to celebrate Valentine's Day (in fact I can't care less for the "holiday"), but it was a  good excuse to post a look somewhat inspired in the reds of passion. In my case, more like burgundy of passion. So check it out!

These are the products I used:

Eyes:

- 88 Warm Pallete - Coastal Scents (light burgundy over the lid, a shimmery beige as highlight, dark burgundy on the crease and matte dark brown outer V)
- NYX HD primer
- Rimmel Lash accelerator mascara
- Rimmel kajal black eye pencil

Face:
- Mac Studio finish powder foundation - NC35
- Physicians formula loose powder
- NYX yellow pot concealer
- NYX Mosaic blush - spice
- Bare Minerals multi-tasking powder in Summer bisque (over the concealer)

Lips:
NYX round lipgloss - Natural

Have a nice Valentine's Day. Put on that nice outfit and surprise your Valentine with some spicy romantic and passionate love! (at least that's what I plan on doing!).
